Paperweight, hand carved white statuary marble.
Hand carved paperweight made of white statuary marble of the Apuan Alps. Made in Forte dei Marmi, seen in the postcard, inspired by a local popular XX Century focaccia bread snack, shape and size.
From the same quarry opened by Michelangelo in 1518. The visible pier is at the end of the road that the Artist built to carry the blocks to be loaded on the vessels with destination Rome for Pope's Julius II Monumental Tomb.
